Film Fight is The Austin Chronicle's online movie-debate forum, where critics Kimberley Jones and Josh Rosenblatt go head to head and toe to toe each month over controversial topics in the world of cinema – Bergman vs. Bay, Hepburn vs. Johansson, black and white vs. color, soup vs. salad – all in the spirit of intellectual curiosity, rhetorical flourishing, and good old-fashioned scrappin'.

Each Film Fight lasts for five days, during which time Kim and Josh are free to run the cinematic gamut in an attempt to outwit the other, prove their worth, and earn the respect of Chronicle readers, who are encouraged to participate in the process by voting at the end of each business day for the writer he/she thought best twisted the other into a soft, lightly salted pretzel, disputation-wise, dialectics-wise, style-wise, and otherwise-wise.

Participating commenters and voters are eligible for prizes such as film passes and swag, and the Film Fighter with the most votes wins the right to screen a movie of his or her choosing at the monthly Chronicle-sponsored Film Fight happy hour, where good times, good friends, good drinks, and unfettered antagonism can be enjoyed by all.

Film Fight: We're here to give Hollywood the beating it's been begging for.
